A small selection of additional photos taken during our walk on 6th October 2025 to Whitlingham Country Park. Enjoy
Looking up, colour πΌπ½ Looking down, swans
I’m wondering if this is a toy that’s been dropped, or whether it was planted here in an act of hopeful sympathetic magic, for it sure does look like a certain fungus (fly agaric) πΌ
Fruits of the common lime tree. Despite here the leaves are remarkably dark, the leaves at the top of the tree showed as ‘lime’ green πΌπ½ Pink campion provides a winter home for this ladybird!
The spectacled goose, aka Egyptian goose, offers welcome colour amongst the monochromatic plumage of the more plentiful swans, other geese and gulls πΌπ½
Alder catkins and a glimpse of a cone, the most common tree around the lake πΌ
The changes in colour is, as yet, quite subtle. But there’s no denying, that foliage is changing πΌπ½
Walking back to the bus stop we notice a shield bug on this holly leaf πΌπ½Β And then this colourful array of leaves nigh blind us. A garden hedge, of course
Hope you enjoyed.
Fungi on Friday!

I enjoyed very much! Our colours are on their way out.
I love that little toy thingy – I choose to believe it was left there on purpose!
Wonderful share.
