Context is everything
Believe me
6mph, my crow-friend croaks
6mph, that’s a joke
6mph, what, cos their wings are broke?
6mph, I can fly faster
But that sign is for humans in charge of Broads’ cruisers
Because 6mph is all they can master?
Because at 6mph the boat’s wake doesn’t erode the river bank

You didn’t post the prompt post for this week.

It’s posted now. Idiot-me, muddled the dates when I scheduled them, so the prompt-post was scheduled for tomorrow, while my take on it, which should have gone out tomorrow, was scheduled for today. I think someone put a food mixer in my head and turned it on. Thank you for drawing my attention to it. Oh deary-deary me! 🙏😎😁

I live on the edge of the Broads area, so the rivers’ health and well-being are important to me

I doubt I’d have taken that speed sign were it not for the accompanying crow!

I can absolutely imagine that bird thinking the speed limit is ludicrous! Clever take.

Thank you, Violet. It was sparked by a friend on twitter who wondered where on earth you’d find such a ludicrous speed limit

That is a low speed limit but the reasoning behind it is wonderful. And excellent take on your prompt!

Thank you, Dale. I’ve seen how destructive a wake can be. Awful. Not just erosion but also the disturbance to the wildlife

We don’t think of that as we are zipping along in the waves. A good reminder, I say.
