Goosy Gerty didn’t know why
Whenever Suzie Swan passed by
She felt excessively shy
That’s why she always held back
Peering over the other’s shoulder
And thus she invariably missed the snack
If only she’d been bolder…

Poor Goosy Gerty! Hopefully, she will gain some courage somehow…

Either that or she’ll flap her wings and take off to some place where Suzie Swan isn’t always centre of attention

That might be the best idea!

The goose is one of a flock that lives on that lake. The geese aren’t as friendly as the swans, of which there are six, I think

Geese can be very nasty! (Canadian ones, anyway).

I’ve seen them used as watchdogs. And they’ll give chase. Swans are maybe more dangerous but only when guarding their nest, eggs and young

They are nasty enough for it!! And I have heard the swans are.

But the swans only attack to defend their young and are otherwise quiet and non-threatening

Of course. And so (mostly) do the Canadian geese 😉

I’m not sure Canadian geese breed in our climes, though they definitely visit out of season

They are “special” 😉

Whimsical and fun Crispina, though I’m not sure I’d stand up to Suzie!

Suzie likes to walk straight up to you, head turning so she keeps her eye on you. She wants whatever food you’ve got. Makes her easy to photograph
