21st September 2024, we’ve bused to Hopton, south of the county border, to walk back via Lound Lakes nature reserve. Last week we left the walk at the main lake. Now we resume. Please join us
The morning mist stretches over the water
In winter the lake is busy with ducks and geese, but not yet, just a swan all alone
This lake is available for fishing. It forms part of the local water company’s reservoir. The steep sides are wooded in pine
After a short climb we’re back in arable country, and Norfolk
Nearing the end of the walk, and again the mist lingers on
It’s not a deep woodland, the sun shines through it!
And out of the woods to catch the bus because I’m still a few miles from home.
Hope you enjoyed

How green is your countryside ! Love these pictures

That’ll be the rain! In dry summers everything turns crisp and dry

I thought that your climate doesn’t gets that hot.

Nothing like as hot as further south, but we do get the occasional drought with water rationing. Then the grasses crisp up and turn the palest cream

That must be tough.

Doesn’t happen that often. And now with climate change our summers are becoming more like soggy seasons!

Climate change is effecting everyone

And always has. Nothing new there though perhaps now the change is less welcome (I don’t imagine our Victorians complaining that the winters weren’t as bitterly cold as it used to be and they could skate on the Thames)

Lol! Perhaps they did do that.

Maybe! “Why can’t we have our winter fair on the frozen river?” Moan, moan, moan, not understanding.
