Dancing Days

That song I hear
Everywhere
Haunts me, trips me, makes me cry
I don’t know why.
The words?
Reminding me of better days
Of careless life
Of picnics and games amidst the May
Nostalgia they say
Is the curse of our day
Clutching us
Disallowing our play
But it could be the rhythm
Those drums, those chords
Coursing through veins
Reviving pains
When we dance with them.
