I still have half a dozen penpals, started writing decades ago. As you say, this is something to be thankful for in our age. Some even still handwrite their news. 🙂

Trouble is, as we get older the brain and hand get a bit wobbly. I like writing by hand, but I’m very glad for the editing capability of a keyboard.

I remember my grandmother getting letters from Scotland. They were on very thin blue paper to keep the charges down on airmail.

I remember writing 36 (yes, 36) pages on that very thin airmail paper to my beloved who was working in Far East
