According to the weather forecast we should have been on the bus coming home before the rain came. But it caught the tail end of our walk. It wasn’t torrential, though more than a brief shower. We took shelter here.
Tranquil, another title from the list Maria Antonia has given us for #2022picoftheweek
The red colouring to the water is, I think, due to a high iron content to the soil
What a lovely spot to wait out the rain. Glad it wasn’t a torrential downpour! (I had to drive in one of those yesterday. Glad I wasn’t on foot!)

No, the torrentials have held off until this week! Warnings of flash floods etc

Nice shot, Crispina. You seem to find the most enchanting places in nature. I’m happy you didn’t get soaked. I believe the red is due to algal blooms. Too many nutrients in the water. As they die, the water turns red.

Ah, I never thought of that. Thank you. Though I do know the soil around here is iron-rich

Perhaps you’re right, then.

Yea, something to do with La Nina, instead of the usual El Nino. I was watching a video about it yesterday. The science-brains are trying to figure if this is a short-lived pattern, or if it’ll go one for years. I hope for your sake it’ll be short-lived
