Billy and Trev were training to be special agents. This summer their project was to use the found-environment to pass secret messages.
The railway company were not pleased to discover the theft of one of their signs. But they decided not to press charges when the boys returned it.
Aww, cute story

Today’s kids… would they have the imagination to do such? Most are kept on such a short leash by their helicopter parents!
Oh, for the freedom of our childhoods.
This is wonderful, Crispina.

Back in my days (yes, Antiquity), many students from Groton School attended Harvard University as college students. It so happened that in the town of Ayer, just to the south of Groton (where the school was), was a street called the “Groton-Harvard Road,” because, naturally, it was on the road from Groton (just north of Ayer) to Harvard (the town, not the university, just south of Ayer). I’m afraid the street sign was stolen many times by graduates of Groton School attending Harvard.
