What deterrent have you for those wingéd things
That zoom down fast to attack the head
Whose sharp end digs and draws my blood?

Mosquitos?

No, those avian beings.

    1. I remember a Bulgarian waiter telling me in Bulgaria they rub themselves with vinegar. I never though to ask him what sort of vinegar

      2. Being English, my thought was malt vinegar like I’d put on my chips. But I suppose white wine vinegar, or cider vinegar…?

      4. My formula has been working, to a degree. I’ve ordered some citronella incense from Amazon, but I’m concerned how that will affect the asthma. We’ll see. They seem to be multiplying, must be the season

    1. These ones have been little gnats. But all the more difficult to find. And they find sneak into every little crack in the structure of the building

      2. Where do they hide? I can’t use any of the fly sprays & repellents so finding the approximate recipe for the lemon/witch hazel lotion was a blessing

      3. It is so funny. My mother’s late boyfriend used to get attacked by them. We’d be sitting there and he’d be slapping himself and cursing while we were, apparently, not as tasty!

      6. Hey’s irony. I bought & fixed a window-screen. I bought & lit citronella incense which is supposed to be a deterrent. I went to bed, read for a while…and heard a distinctive sound. Yep, one of those was bashing itself against the bedside lamp! I think it was stunned, for it allowed me to wrap it in tissue and dispose outside.
