Burgh Castle: 19 March 2021
These Roman remains of a C3rd fort sit 5 miles distant from Great Yarmouth (when walked via the estuary bank). There and back gives me a 10-mile hike.

I can just FEEL the history! I love that they used different rocks/stones/bricks. Not sure if they did that for aesthetic reasons, but it sure is pretty in its own way.

Good place to stop for coffee! Sure to meet someone worthy of 5 minutes chat, since all the local dogs come here, bringing their walkers with them

Yes and no. I lost half a flask of coffee once to an inquisitive boisterous dog! But there’s usually plenty of chat, and local info on what’s been seen bird-wise
