I’m giving no commentary to these photos except to say they were taken on 3rd September 2020 when it seems most of East Anglia experienced an amazing sunset. These photos were taken either at Breydon Water or on my way there. Enjoy…

Thank you, Sadje. Being in the right place at the right time. And I am lucky that I can take sunrises from the beach, and sunsets from Breydon Water. All I need are the right weather conditions. π

Gorgeous photos, I think the third one is my favorite! Makes me want to go back to the beach, then again, I wish I lived there!

I’m lucky, I live between the beach and the estuary, though that esturary is weird, being almost land-locked

I would soooo love that! My favorite place in my world is Port Aransas, followed closely by Galveston. I want to visit North and South Carolina and their beaches before we make final retirement plans (when I can get the hubs t talk about it at all)! Id be game to visit other states (like Florida) and their beaches as well.

Beaches are liminal places, transition from land to sea, places of change, and thus spiritual places no matter what our beliefs

Thank you. Love standing on the river bank watching the sun sink down. Soooo slowwww. It’s relaxing. Then it’s a swift walk home cos this isn’t a place to be in the dark on your own

Haha… love that image. Being in a contemplative and serene mood as one watches the sun set and the moment it dips below horizon, one starts a furious run back home. :p

Now quite the moment of dipping. The fire in sky hangs on for quite a time. Then it’s the power walk home across the wide and dark wild-land to street lights and traffic

Absolutely stunning, Crispina. What luck to live with this in your “backyard” so to speak…

I know. But I needed someone to open my eyes to it. And no, it’s not who you’re thinking. It’s… mmm… let’s call him a neighbour. But no more than that. Just shares an interest in our shared environment

Sometimes we take what we have for granted. A normal human condition, I say. Sometimes a stranger does something that wakes us up, sometimes we do it on our own after having been nudged towards it.

In this case it was a challenge. And I cannot resist a challenge

Very dramatic! I especially appreciated the bonus shot of the “golden hour” across the golden fields.

Well put. Here we are having pink skies and orange sun, which would be eerily beautiful if the cause (wildfires all across the west coast) weren’t so devastating.

I feel for the people of the west coast. Your smoke has hit the higher atmosphere and drifted here. We’re getting very vivid sunsets and sunrises… though not as vivid as some twitter-photographers who hype up the colour

I am lucky to be far enough south (nearer to LA) that we only have a *few* wildfires around us. Our university is giving us air quality warnings and telling us to avoid going outside. But I had to get to the doctor’s yesterday and that meant a walk (which I really needed for my mental health as well as my physical health). The air didn’t smell or taste that bad, but then, I don’t have any respiratory problems, thank goodness. And the skies were less filled with smoky clouds. Still, it’s like a spooky cotton haze up there. Weird.

I thank you, Brian. But all I did was hold up the phone, focused and clicked. The sun did the rest. π

Ah, but just because beauty can be seen, doesnβt mean it will be. Thatβs the photographerβs challenge and talent.
