Put on your hikers, pack your lunch, and don’t forget plenty of water. We’re gonna go walking the coastal route.
We start at the Ravine, North Lowestoft, which takes us down the cliff, to the sea. Foot traffic crosses above us…

Bridge over the Ravine: 29 June 2020
To our right the sea, to our left the cliffs…
Tree lupin grows here in yellow-full abundance
Stonecrop is one of the lowest growing plants of the dune community
The queen of the fungi rides again…
Listed & protected building come in all shapes. This was part of Britain’s defences in WWII
We don’t very often see the caterpillars. This one’s a nobby one.
Arguably the path less travelled…
(I think it’s soapwort)
We’ve reached Gunton, and my camera-battery has failed me. And so join me next week when we’ll complete the walk (but in reverse)
There! Got my walk in, even though it’s raining and I’ve cleaning to do. Thank you, it was lovely.

The back is repaired. I canwalk again. Get a good speed going, cover more distance. And I’ve just bought new hiker-shoes. Roadtested them this afternoon. They’re great for striding out. Not sure about dawdling… 🙂

Thank you. More to come next week. It is a beautiful part of our coast, and very varied in environments… but also dangerous because of cliff falls and inrushing tides.

Such a lovely lot of photos! What? You don’t carry a spare battery? I am shocked, Crispina, totally shocked! (Says she who doesn’t even have a spare battery, herself 😉 )

My camera, the battery lasts forever. This one, such a small camer, and such a small battery… and I hadn’t realised how qiuckly it used up (what, only 160 photos? Thats no good). But I have now got 2 spare… carried at all times

You know I am teasing you! I’ve gone out, sans having checked my battery, only to realise there photos in that I’m screwed…

And yesterday I used all three batteries and came home with just under 500 photos. Drat. Now I have to process them, if only to crop or delete.

Good timing, cos a certain someone has football tonight, allowing me to get to grips without interruptions
