Bob the Footpad

Bob the Nomad
Became a footpad
Ventured far for he hadn’t a home
Alas, poor Bob, forever to roam

Bob the Nomad
They claimed him a rough cad
A ruffler of skirts, a wild cat hadn’t a backbone
Such behaviour the law couldn’t condone

Bob the Nomad
With his alibi ironclad
Denied his involvement, had his movements restricted
No Fixed Abode Bob, now of murder charged and convicted

  6. Joy Pixley says:

I will join the chorus of Alas, poor Bob! I can see what you mean about starting off lighthearted and having the tale take a nasty turn. But I keep being distracted from the social commentary by staring at that fascinating image! A cat all piled up with gear like that, and seeming to play the character so perfectly — what a sight! Makes me ponder worldbuilding… but no. Even if you were a small enough creature to ride on the back of a cat, I wouldn’t recommend trying it, lol.

  8. I find it interesting that the poem makes you root for Bob, yet I also get the feeling he’s not very nice!
