Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
Red Bridge over River Tud at Costessey, just outside Norwich.

Oh, I like that, Violet. Kinda double meaning, can be taken two ways… a bit like that water 🙂

Wow another fascinating photo. The longer I look at it the more I like it. I love the way you’ve caught the reflections of the water and it’s so clear. The first thing that comes to mind is what could have happened here. Thanks for the inspiration Crispina 🙂

Happy to inspire. Yes, so many things could have happened here. 🙂

Beautiful photo, Crispina. Both the colours and how you’ve managed to catch the light’s reflection in the little tunnel are stunning 🙂

It was a very sunny day! And that sun bleached out part of the bricks. But, hey, you can’t have everything. I was after the reflections, and yay! I got them. 🙂

🙂 Yesterday’s photo-shoot was productive, but not for prompts. Berries and fungi. And some excellent shots.

Sounds enchanting 🙂

Pixie-led. Poisonous berries and some potentially nasty fingi. Some very very small….

Ooo, pixie-led. So enchanting yet dangerous…

What a yield! This has to be the best autumn for fungi for several years. Berries too. Rain, and still quite warm. Excellent conditions.

Is that a bridge or some sort of outflow?

It’s a bridge. It’s only a small stream, except when it runs high with winter melt-waters

Yea, and you managed that change of direction with a smooth pen… so to speak. Great photo too 🙂

Thank you, kind lady. I played with it to make it more match yours as the original is white and bright in another fashion 😉

I thought you have cropped it, to get the right fit. And by making it darker, you’ve given it the same tonal feel. Nice one, Dale. Gold Star!

I did only slightly crop it, because ironically, I took the picture on my walk on Tuesday. I made it darker and changed the tone slightly 😉 PicMonkey is so much fun! And a gold start to boot! Woot!

I use MS Polarr. There used to be a free version; not sure if there is anymore.

PicMonkey has a free version, but I pay the extra to have more options.

Indeed. And now I’ve overslept by two hours, which doesn’t help. Kept awake last night by a fiercely burning horsefly bite gotten on Tuesday.

Overslept on a Saturday… Hmm
Bummer on the bite,, though!

All in the service of bringing you beautiful photos. I was chasing fungi, actually. But I’m holding back those photos while I still have berries.

I hear ya! Sometimes the body tells us what it needs more… And you can still set out and capture your lovely images!

I captured the images first. Got bitten in doing so. Am now suffering. But that won’t stop a repeat performance

Still. Not fun at all. One would think those buggers know it’s autumn and time for them to get outta town! And I think it would take a lot more for you to quit!

Fairly late into the prompt, Crispina, but I still wanted to participate. Something about the contrast between the stillness of the water in the sun and the darkness of the culvert pulled this out of me:
