I am perplexed, and truly would welcome any suggestions of how this could happen:
Mutford church, Suffolk: 19 August 2019
Facing the west window, my back to the east, yet I’ve captured that east window as a kind of superimposed image. There was nothing reflective between my camera and the rest of the church. Though, as you can see, there were windows to my right.
This is just so weird. Any physicists, lighting engineers or photographers out there who can answer me how?

Yea, I know. A real mystery.
I’ve asked a photographer friend; was she who suggested I posted the photo and asked if anyone else could answer it.
She also wanted to come take pics of this old English church 🙂

There must have been something reflective that you didn’t notice at the time…Something on your own self that the sun hit?

I strain my brain. No. Nothing that would account for it. I had a waterbottle clipped to the backpack, thus at my side, but it was in a holder, and certainly not enough exposed to result it that (and the wrong side of the body). There was my hiking pole than doubles as monopod; that also was attached to the other side of my pack, and anyway isn’t exactly reflective. Other than that….? Nothing.
