Arise, Meander, son of wedded waters:
Of primal source, Titaness Tethys
And all-encircling stream, the chaotic Oceanus.
Arise Sir Knight, and spread far your name;
Arise in Phrygia, for from Phrygia you came.
And never a straight course did he deign
But endlessly wandered the Carian Plain

Wow, thank you. Dale.
But did you get the visual pun. Or was I too subtle?

Love your take on “meander”.

I thank you, Susan.
I like playing with words, and the word stems from the River Meander in present day Turkey. But I made Meander a knight, cos in chess the knight *meanders* over the board.

I got the pun. But people who don’t play chess may not.

Tis true. But the River Meander still meanders from ancient Phrygia across the Carian Plain.

You inspired me to tell a true story about a chess game I once played.

So I’ve just seen. And I delayed fixing my tea to read it. And I’m not ever playing chess with you.

I like it Crispina 🙂 Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the references. You on the other hand are well rounded enough in your studies to pen this prose and I will learn from it. 😊🌼
