Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
If you tag it #CCC others should be able to find it by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
Details of the photo are given, if relevant, below this line

I thank you. I wasn’t sure whether to use this photo. It was taken early morning and the light isn’t that good. On the other hand, I could see so many potential stories here; so many ways to use the prompt. And so … 🙂

My thoughts run like a staircase.
I wish it were an orderly one.
No, it turns and tilts,
sometimes up,
sometimes down.
Perhaps it is a spiral,
(helical for you knowing ones,)
because I look back and see where I have been,
sometimes in cheer,
sometimes in sorrow.
Yet elsetimes it is a broken causeway,
in lands once trodden,
but now forgot.
The ruins of what once was,
The mysteries of what might have been.
I will not see its end,
For its end will be mine own.

Wow, Brian, where does this come from. I’ve never taken you for a poet. Oh, are you trying to woo me? Does EJ know?
But seriously, I am impressed. 🙂

I’m not sure how likening my mind to a broken causeway constitutes wooing . . . although I can see why you and EJ would both find it appealing! 😉

It pleases me that it’s had that effect. It is a scene of my childhood, too.

I have happy memories of childrhood; the happiness of ignorance. Alas, as we grow, we can’t stay there, though some do try. 🙂
