I cannot see, the world turned white
A fog descended in the night
Which frost’s cold fingers sealed in place
Where’s the sun, its pleasant face?
Lost behind it.
O, Sun, please push a way through it
Disperse it, dispel it
Whisper to us with summery breezes
Your blissful warmth, please, to ease us.
Written in response to what faced me when I opened the curtains yesterday morning — and I hadn’t the wits to grab my camera, and so a pixabay image heads it.
Beautiful.

Well, on this occasion I can’t take credit for the photo. By the time I’d composed the words and thought of a photo, the fog was thining. 🙂

In which case, I thank you.
And I suppose I used my creatives talents to chose the photo. Thr fog really was that thick yesterday morning. And cold.

I thank you, Dale. Yet another that just popped into my head. And no warm sudsy water in sight.
I’m thinking this weird phenomon is caused by my 24/7 music listening; from the time my feet hit the bedroom floor, to the time I close down for the night. Thus my brainwaves are aligned to rhythm and rhyme. Well, it’s a thought. And it’s either that or I’m channelling some long-dead monk (my place is built on the grounds of a former priory). Though, if the latter, I’d expect something more in line with a Gregorian chant. 🙂

Hmmm… could be indeed!
Or, maybe you just have a talent that comes in, takes over and produces wonderful poetry.

Well, whatever the source, I’m grateful for it. Though it comes so easy (most times) that I tend not to value you. So keep saying it’s good, etc, and maybe in time I’ll begin to value it too. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Not to value it or me? lOL
I will keep on saying it when I think it is. And you should as well. It had a really nice flow.

Ah, now I do admit I’m good on flow. It’s like a said, rhythm and rhyme. 🙂

Nice – I especially like “please, to ease us”. I have looked out the window at a world turned white many times in my life, and I almost miss it, now that I live where it never snows. Then I remember having to go outside in that weather to get my daily tasks done. Suddenly those white trees no longer look so beautiful, and I am ready to join you in a chorus praying for the summery breezes to return.

I thank you, Joy. Until I moved to this town I knew what winters were. And being younger I’d happily sledge down the hills and dice with my life by walking where maybe the ice wasn’t so safe. I remember once a 6 mile walk into the city to keep an appointment when the buses to our village had ceased to run. Now I’m included to stay in the warm unless my errance is essential. Age. Asthma. Or I’ve just lost the way of it. Now I look at the temperatures both Canada and parts of the States are getting and … my heart goes out to them. 🙂

I have less patience with weather as I get older, too. And yes, the weather is deadly in much of the US right now: wind chills so low that you can die of exposure after only 10 minutes outside! Makes me very glad that I am here in California right now, where the worst we are dealing with is some heavy rains.

Yea, me too, Though subject to winds that can take nighttime temperatures down to negative 10 C (plenty cold for me, thank you), we haven’t the snow, and a few hours of sunshine can bring us back up to 5 or 6 C by midday. Yet habits are such I still insiist on an early morning walk to the supermarket Idjit that I am,

I shan’t throw stones from my idjit glass house over here, since I did my own early morning walk to the supermarket in the rain. 😀

How else to get the best of the produce, while avoiding the herds.

Love the poem!! Let us hope that Punxsutawney Phil is right and there is an early Spring. Although, here in Florida where we only get waves of winter, I am not ready to relinquish the drier cooler air quite yet. But, naturally, I am not in Michigan!!

Yea, I’ve seen the reports. But even Britian is now beginning to get it bad. Though I do notice the forecast for our east coast later in the week suddenly perks up in temperatures. Though I doubt I’ll get out for a proper wild-walk (too much time taken in travelling) I hope to escort my camera around the town; see what little interesting scenes unfold. 🙂
