Too often it’s only the flowers and fungi that get pulled from my collection and posted to here. So, I thought with the year’s end near, I’d post some of the others, the non-flowers. The choice wasn’t easy: I allowed myself only one photo, calendar-wise, to represent the month.
January
February

Looking from the former railway bridge upon a former road from Costessey to Hellesdon (Norwich outskirts). It was on this walk that I damaged my back.
March

Staying with the railway theme . . . this single line from Acle to Gt Yarmouth speaks of how isolated my home town . . . on the far side of the marshes
April
May

Back to Upton for this shot of a church. In fact, the church belongs to the adjoining parish of Fishley.
June

A hollow-way at Shotesham. Many of the photos taken around now have already found their way into various posts.
July

Chedgrave church (next to Loddon). An example of the Romanesque style of church carving later replaced by the plain attenuated forms of the Gothic
August

A gated field some place between Bergh Apton and Framingham. More used to the 5-bar gate or the tubular, this shouted of the unusual. I wondered was it there to keep the weeds out?
September

A day at the seaside yielded this: a row of beach huts at Southwold, Suffolk. Ah, does that mean it doesn’t qualify for the collection?
October
November

A modern stained glass window at Norwich cathedral shines it’s abstracts of light into a side chapel, staining both stone and wood a wonderful blackberry-crush!
December
Alas, and then came the rain. And fog. And mists. And more rain. And snow. And winds. And I decided my camera would be happier left in the dry and the warm until better weather.
May the coming year bring peace and well-being to all my readers.
more photos @ Norfolk 2017

A nice tour through the year; I pulled EJ in for some while she’s working on assembling a pressure cooker.

Stirred memories? I did think of you and EJ when I selected the train-line photo. The solitary line to the back of beyond, Rolling across those marshes, you get to wonder where you’re going.

As much letting us see what we couldn’t see, being there for a day in one season.

Oh, so much you didn’t see. Even now I think, I wish Brian & EJ could have seen that. You know, there are more photos from that series (non-flower & -fungi, Norfolk 2017) on my Google+ site. Link’s at the bottom on this post. Though the notification has probably already popped up on your Google Chrome.

Well my favourites are Feb, Apr,May,July and Oct..love that bridge sign. Sorry you hurt your back on February..love that scene looking down at the path. You certainly do have such lovely landscapes there! I agree there is something fine about that April field.
Sorry I did miss this post first time around!! Thanks for leading me back. More than worth the trip. 🙂

The back is finally healed. I’ve been doing weights to strengthen it and I can now hike across to the supermarket without any pain. But I’ve yet to do a long walk. And I don’t know how it’ll hold out with getting down low for photos. We shall see.
