2nd November 2026 and the forecast is suggestive of intermittent showers. But, what the jig, we’re walking the cameras anyway. Destination is Whitlingham Country Park, but less for the water, more for the tree-studded hills. Let’s go…
🔼 To reach the park we must cross the Yare. And for now there’s not a sign of rain! 🔽 We peer through the trees to catch glimpses of the river running alongside the lane
🔼 Yea, well, you can’t go to this park without taking some pics of the swans and geese and other birds 🔽⏬ it’s a coot
🔽 A cosy beech grove draws us in…
🔼 That sun streaming in beams of gold is most deceptive 🔽 cos now it rains!
🔼 Hills! This one has steps. To help the less able (me)? Or to prevent erosion? 🔽 I stop midway to take a photo of this magnificent rain-slicked beech. Thankfully the rain has stopped
🔽 Having arrived at the top you can look down…
🔼 Eventually that top path descends allowing some glimpses of the Yare before 🔽 arriving back at the lake…just in time to reach the cafe before the water falls from those clouds!
I do hope you’ve enjoyed. This proved to be an invigorating yet fully satisfying walk!

That’s such amazing trees and trails! I loved how they look, along with fallen leaves. The birds also look very wonderful. I enjoyed, thoroughly! 👍☺️
