As the title says, here’s some more pics (from our walk along the Bure on 22nd June 2026) Enjoy
The riverside path takes us behind various properties, residential, commercial, and eventually the park. Mostly we have wayside flowers πΌ Hedgerow flowers: Bramble and Bindweed π½ Poppies rooted close to the wall
πΌ Raspberries. Lush. π½ Pink Yarrow
π½ Not a flower! He’s an Oystercatcher. They nest in the adjacent grassland
πΌ More often seen on arable land, but here its flourishing on a building siteΒ π½ While I love to see the wild red poppy, the showy graden escapees are thoroughly accepted
π½ The wind was tossing these poppies around!
πΌ There are always ducks on this pond. But usually in summer there are only mallards. Yet here we have a female mallard and a male pochard. What you might call an odd couple!Β Β π½ A couple of mallard ducklings. There were more, but difficult to see, hidden in the reeds
πΌ I got a fix on the pochard. I clicked. The pochard dived. The water splashed.Β π½ I’d call this a rush. Google Images calls it Sea Club Rush. Yep, I’ll accept that
Butterflies. They were about. But they weren’t very obliging
πΌ Painted Lady, which currently are everywhereΒ π½ Gatekeeper only just visible and not in focus, but that’s the best I could do!
Hope you enjoyed
