When I started this blog, my avatar was a spider’s web. Truly, it was
In 2020, I changed from web to person. Wow, here I am, look! Blurry, it wasn’t the best of phone-cameras.
Year 2020. It was a good year, the year I was 69. But that was to change. There followed four years of high level stress… from which I’m delighted to say I’m now recovered.
So, now’s time to change again.
Me at my 75th birthday. This is the pic I’ll use for my avatar…for the next few years

Love your new display photo Crispina. Awesome 👏🏼

I love this! My picture is about 7 years old too- I will try and be open to taking a new one next time I am with someone who can take it for me- as I totally am not coordinated enough to do the whole selfie thing.

Selfies can’t be worse than mine! I solved the problem by turning my phone around and taking a photo of my reflection in the mirror. There is a way to do it so you’re not getting the phone in the photo but it’s too convoluted to explain here. Play with it and and try to remember how you did it (lol) and you’ll get decent selfies. 😀

I have taken selfie-shots in the mirror. I prefer to use a remote and a small tripod. Having said that, this photo was taken in the usual selfie way

I used to shy away from them. But I needed a photo for my books on Amazon. I shelled out for a professional shot, and it was awful. So a couple of my Twitter followers helped me pluck the courage to take some selfies.

Oops … Crispina …. damn AutoCorrect!! Must’ve been invented by a man!

I’d agree, except take off that last letter and you have a man’s name (saint of shoemaker, St Crispin)

Do you ever go by a shortened version, perhaps ‘Pina”?

Crisp. Most of my followers on Twitter call me Crisp, and that’s fine with me 😃

Thank you. Healthy living. And I haven’t worn makeup since my early 20s when I discovered I’m allergic to it! Also, I’m not a sun worshipper. All makes a difference, I think

You guys are all braver than I am. My profile picture most places is 22 years old I think…even though it does seem like yesterday. Otherwise I have my janthina shell avatar.
Change is good and you look younger than my 75 year old self!! I have to say I like the necklace in the older blurry picture…looks more like an amulet or more bohemian.

Thank you, Judy. That necklace was a cheap supermarket buy cos I don’t like jewelery but my neckline needed it.
And you know, once you get into selfie it can become quite addictive 😉

Well, sometimes character can be achieved inexpensively! When I work in MidJourney, I love amulets and interesting, evocative pendants and adornments. So fun!! So your find was perfect for the occasion.

And nobody knows how cheap it might be, it’s on a photo!

Thank you, Indira. I wash it. Rub it dry-ish. Allow it to finish drying. That’s it.
