Huh, an abacus would have been even easier and quicker

Although I have to say, while the abacus as we know it might not have been used that early in the west, using pebbles in marked columns almost certainly was. But only 50 words to play with!

I’ve speculated that if they used a counting base of 7 (we use 10) they could quite easily work with pi.
