The Sheep Outhouse Project (1851 – 1931) was a long-term research project by Cambridge University to study how different foodstuffs in a sheep’s diet affected their . . . excretions. The rose diet produced the first naturally floral-scented wool. But the horse chestnut diet was a disaster, what between the exploding sheep and the serious injuries received by those handling the sheep feces. Fortunately, most of those were sizars, and hence no great loss.
