A selection of (mostly) flower photos from our walk on 23rd June 2025. Enjoy.
Pink bramble flowers now are replacing the dog rose, whose days, alas have gone.
Two yellow flowers πΌ Weld (though it might be wild mignonette) π½ and what looks like a buttercup but is a Tormentil (related to the garden shrub Potentilla)
Two ladybirds with a bit of a difference πΌ the black one is a Harlequin
Field bindweed, a devilish difficult flower to photograph in the sun when the pink candy stripes totally disappear πΌπ½ I did better on the second shot, capturing its climb up the wheat stalks
Two true arable ‘weeds’, mayflower (a close sister to chamomile) πΌπ½ and field pansy aka Heartsease β¬ and woundwort complete with another ladybird
That old field favourite, poppies, here blowing in the wind and veiled by silvery grasses πΌπ½ and leaving the best to last, possibly the last for another year, the white field rose
Hope you’ve enjoyed.
What’s that, where are the butterflies? Too many to include here. Check out Friday Flies (4th July 2025)

Lovely pics Crispina.
