How old is this rose bush? Probably as old as the garden, and that’s as old as me. When I moved here in 2021, it was lost amidst a stifling bed of nettles. I’m so pleased to see not only has it survived but now is flourishing.

You’d not believe its woeful state when I moved here, summer 2021. Neglected for at least 10 years, maybe more. I was delighted the first time it gave me just a solitary bloom. But this year… wow, it’s really going for it

I think it might be Oklahoma. It certainly looks right as its buds are just about to open

wow my roses are often displaying a lighter or darker shade before opening but never black.💜

I worried when I first saw them. But it’s how I identified them. Apparently, that’s how Oklahoma begins to open…or at least the photos I found of it
