Tuesday Treats: The Graveyard’s Gatekeepers

Butterflies seen during my walk in the local cemetery on Sunday 28th July 2024. Gatekeepers, I find that rather suited to the location😎

It’s possible a couple of these are meadow browns, it’s sometimes difficult to tell from just the underwing and with males and females being slightly different.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed. I know I did!

How lucky you are that they stay so still for you to capture them! I have a devil of a time; if they do alight on a bloom, they are gone before I can focus!

What a beauty, Crispina. Wonderful shots. How did you manage? They keep moving from one spot to another.

    • Tip: Don’t cast a shadow. And while, yes, they do move about, a lot, they also rest up for a while. So then I take the shot before I get the focus, and I zoom, snap, zoom, snap, until I get the perfect shot. Fingers crossed. It doesn’t always work. I miss more than I capture
