17th June 2024 dawned fair and blue. Strap on those shoes, hop on that bus, oh yes, and the next one, come join us as we walk from the Norfolk village of Brooke to the next village of Poringland. No great distance? But we’re doing to via farm tracks and narrow lanes and the tiny village of Howe. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Brooke is a delightful village, so well kept
Alas, I’d say this farm building isn’t so well kept, and the farm tracks are wet! But we’ve grown used to that this year
Oh, that looks rather deep…
Back on track…
I’m interested to see how the crops have held up with recent storms. Look at this, no storm damage, that’s incredible. I’m so pleased for the farmer
Heading now to Howe whose church is just visible above the trees
And there we leave it…for now. Be back next week to complete the walk. Hope you enjoyed

Lovely photos.

Good news for the farmer! All that rain… (we are going through a ridiculous rainy bit. Right now the sun is shining and it is muggy like hell with threats of thunderstorms ahead in the evening…)

We were warned that the climate change would bring us more rain. Everyone freaking about rising heat. We should have been investing in waders, gumboots… rafts!

Right now UK is stuck in a very cold wet phase cos the jet stream is passing too far south to keep the polar winds from us. Boo ho!

Ugh. And we have the muggy like soup crap. The storms they keep saying are coming have so far held at bay. I’m thinking we’ll be getting them this afternoon and tomorrow (unfortunately while Marc drives up).

It’s either one thing or another, and neither are what we want. Hope all goes well with Marc (Oh, that was 10 days ago!)

Isn’t that the truth. But since Marc is here, we have been rather blessed with fantabulous weather. Yesterday, we had my sisters and their spouses, my mother and two of our kids over for supper. Just as Marc started to cook the burgers, it came down. Had to move the party inside. It was all over in less than an hour but by then all my cushions were soaked. Other than that? Perfect!

The irony, unable to get out for walk cos of my knee/leg/hip and the weather has been beautiful. This Thursday I’m able to walk (not too far, but I managed) and the weather was doubly dull!

Isn’t that always the way? Life is not always fair!

All is still going well with Marc. He leaves Wednesday after two wonderful weeks. The weather was mostly perfect, too!

You know it. And we got along really well. He was in no rush to leave but had to – it is, after all, a nine-hour drive!

That is devotion!

Well. I dunno about devotion but financially speaking, it is the best option. Not so much a vacation in my mind but hey, it’s time off from work and time spent with someone so, that’s good.
