More photos from our walk on 27th March 2024. Enjoy
Primroses come in two colours here…
An irresistible hidden detail…
Yes, I admit it, this is my all-time favourite tree…
Moschatel, a much overlooked tiny woodland plant… and daffodils which cannot be overlooked
Probably a bird cherry, that being the most obvious woodland cherry…
Pollen-laden pussy willow glorious in the sun…
As are the marsh marigolds… icons of spring
Finally, lest we forget…
That’s all for now, folks. More next week
Thanks for the smiles on my Tuesday morning the day after eclipse totality.

I love myosotis – but I love the name Forget-me-not even better.
Love that little red door! It really pops 🙂
Moschatel is so pretty and delicate and I can see why you love that tree.
All around, a lovely post!

I think the country names generally are so much nicer than the botanical

Yes! Just yesterday, someone posted their photo of “Johnny Jump Ups”. I hadn’t heard this term for little violets in ages. So fun.

And that little red door isn’t for elves or fairies or gnomes. It’s a post box (mailbox)

I was sure it was a post box. I prefer to think of a special door for faeries, if you don’t mind. Though I would picture the top as more rounded… 😉

I’m sure the fairies must live there too

I’m not surprised that’s your favourite tree – it kind of looks like its swaggering…

I see it as a woman, in long skirt, dancing, her arms thrown high, happy that spring’s arrived
