Sunday Picture Post: An Abbreviated Walk

24th January 2024, midway through a two-day gale, but anyway we’re walking. The intention is the five mile walk from Kessingland dunes to Lowestoft. But we didn’t quite make it. Stay with me, you’ll find out why…

Kessingland cliffs are faced by extensive dunes, but sea mist always makes the ships seem closer…

So here we set off, the galing wind backing us, driving us on (thankfully!)

I love all the different shades of grass. And across the bay, our destination…

Crazy Mary’s Hole is flooded almost to its fullest…

Beyond it is a shingle bank, behind it are the cliffs…

Heading into Pakefield now…

But wait, it’s supposed to be low tide yet the winds are holding the tide high and there’s no way we’re going to make it to Pakefield. We’ll have to turn back, take one of the exits from the beach, and catch a bus. Drats!

Hope you enjoyed.

We got a bit sand-blasted on the way back, now heading into the 40mph wind!

Love that opening shot, Crispina. I, too, love the shades of grass.

You did manage to capture some beauties, despite having to turn back.
