Second half of our walk, 28th December 2023. Wrap up warm, it’s a cold blustery day…
The marsh is cut by channels that drain it, the water pumped into the estuary. This is where we leave the windy riverside and walk a (private) marshland road. The pumphouse marks that turning, the modern equivalent of the windmills
Wide skies, and reeds whipping in the wind…
No horses nor cattle out to pasture during the wet months…
The willows help buffer the wind…
Heading into village…and out again
I promised you mills!
Zoomed and not zoomed…
Two rivers flow into the estuary that is Breydon Water. River Yare, and this river, the Waveney…
Looking back from the river to the one-time coastal cliff where the Romans built a fort in C2nd CE
The ruins of C2nd Burgh Castle (means castle on a hill)
Hope you enjoyed. There’s a pub in the village. I’ll meet you there π
Looks like a bright sunny day. Lovely pop of green and blue.

Sunny it was. Which made up for the soul-withering wind. Bracing, we locals call it.

Haha! We can only see the bright sunlight but not the cold wind. π¨

Not even the wind-tossed reeds give you the feel of it!

Not the temperature or the intensity of the wind.

It takes a more talented photographer than me for the camera to record such things
