Here’s a dozen treats to brighten your Tuesday…
The last poppy?
Hops hanging around in the hedgerow
Well, it was the day before Halloween
A strange mix of horsetails and marjoram
Delighted to see the oak finally turning golden
Three leaves: Horsetail, reed, and ivy
Bryony, bright berries and golden hearts
Beech leaves, even while green they look good in the autumn sun. Better still when they turn autumnally copper
Ferns and mosses… suggests a damp place (yea!)
Spindle berries and whispy horsetails
Finally a shot I couldn’t resist. See how high that reed has grown
That’s all for now, folks. Check out Friday Fungi!
Lovely pictures. Thanks

I think over the years I’ve trained my eyes to detect even the smallest bud of interest!

These are great, Crispina. Whenever I see horsetail, I immediately thing of my grandmother who used to make tea with it as it is great to relieve inflammation and especially water retention (my sister had preeclampsia with her first born and was so bloated. The tea really helped.)

Oh yes π My grandmother used to go into the woods to get the stuff because she wanted to make sure there was no crap on it π Glad to share with you.

The difference I notice between plants growing in hedgerows near roads, and those along “green lanes” and woodlands
