All the colour from our walk along the lanes to Tyrrell’s Wood on 13th September 2023
We start with the green, unripe berries of privet…dripping after the rain
And its neighbour, unripe Dogwood
Further down the lane, the hawthorn is hung in the colours of bryony!
While beneath them the sun turns the bramble leaves to jewels
More Dogwood, the leaves now putting on their emperor’s robes
But the leaves and berries of Spindle far outdoes any other for colour!
Guelder Rose advertises its poison in luscious lip-red
Here’s a tricky one, hanging around with the Sloes and yet it seems to be Hazel
And talking of Sloes…midnight blue
What, more Dogwood? Here it’s showing us its berries…darker than Sloes, I’d call them black
Rose Hips, the true colour of autumn!
A fallen Oak leaf, all bronzed up after a summer in the sun…
That’s all for now folks, hope you enjoyed
