Treats and details from our shore walk on 25th August 2025. Enjoy…
First encounter is with a sparrow in the marram grass…
And sea-kale is everywhere on this beach…
And sea-pea…
Love Tree Lupin, though it’s not a tree…
It comes in yellow, yellow, or yellow…
It’s a rugged rose, much suited to shorelines…
Sea-Holly, here in its purple stage!
Horned Poppy, still flowering, I was surprised…
I think it’s Coltsfoot, and I think it’s strayed from the cliffs!
Glasswort…and possibly something else…
Sea Buckthorn. Birds love those berries, rich in vitamin C, and not yet fully ripe (they turn bright orange)
And finally, that other seaside favourite, Tamarix.
Hope you enjoyed.
Now, what have I got for you next week? I shall have to schedule the posts from 23rd to 30th September because I shall be away on holiday. But I’ll make sure I leave you with something!
There are some fabulous shoreline plants, sadly overlooked and ignored most of the time.
