24th June. Met Office forecast a blistering day. But if we go early… and we don’t go too far… We opt for Upton, a short walk across the fields from Acle, and we can bus to there. Make sure you’ve plenty of water and come along with us…
Fishley church sits between Acle and Upton
And here we go across the fields…
On the edge of Upton village is this delightful community garden. We grab a breather in the shade before going further
Upton is a mix of old and new buildings. Tasteful.
Upton Boat Dyke joins River Bure which outlets at Gt Yarmouth and is part of the Broads complex
We sit awhile. Discuss whether to stop the walk here, just idle, just watch. But I’m restless, I say let’s go on. So we up and get walking again
This concreted road serves the grazing marshes
In the distance stands an old mill
Yep, grazing marshes. Aren’t they beautiful!
The cloud promises rain. The air promises thunder. Time to return to Acle for the bus back home
Upton is down from Acle, and so Acle is up from Upton on the return.
Hope you enjoyed our walk. I’ve loads more photos to show you, so why not check out Monday Flyers and Tuesday Flowers.

Very nice, green and refreshing scenery
