3rd January 2023 we catch the bus to Norwich and alight on the outskirts. We’re heading to Whitlingham Country Park. Forecast says rain. But what the heck, there’s a cafe here.
Here used to be a summer retreat for the monks at Norwich cathedral…
The lake is much used by those who enjoy messing about on the water…
I don’t know what’s kept in these red containers, but I love it’s wing-like canopy
The lake is separated from the River Yare by a berm the width of a footpath
The train to Great Yarmouth crosses the river…
Looking out across the lake, wishing the sun would shine
A place to sit. A shame it’s so cold. But the sun’s finally shining
The almost continuous rain of late has resulted in extensive puddles!
Looking the length of the lake…and the sun’s gone in and it’s raining
Heading back along the other side of the lake…where the cafe sits!
The last photo, for the rain now pelted down!
And that was our day out. A coffee while we waited for the rain to stop (which it didn’t) and back to the bus stop
Hope you enjoyed
I hope that the rain didn’t cause any problems. Lovely pictures.

It cut the walk short. But a good excuse to go have a coffee! And thank you 🙂

I liked the one with the boat near the path. It looked like it was hoping to go on an adventure

It may have been a wet one, but it was a beautiful walk, nonetheless. Hope the coffee warmed you right!
