28th February, we jump on the bus to Norwich, where we jump on another to take us to Aylsham. We’re walking out to Blickling Hall, one-time home of Ann Boleyn’s family (second wife of Henry VIII). For those interested in the history of Blickling Hall…a feature I posted in 2018.
Love walking rural lanes…
Snowdrops are everywhere, seen here on a heath
And the same heath…
First sighting of Blickling Hall, seen from a distance, on zoom…
Blickling Church, exquisite flushwork, a specialty of Norfolk
A definite Dutch touch to these *workers houses* that flank the hall
The pub, where maybe lords once mixed with locals
Another view of the hall…
The lake… all grand houses have a lake
On the return, wonderful woodland
Back at Aylsham for the bus…
Hope you enjoyed our little walk. See Tuesday’s Treats for flowers. Yes, we have spring here
Very nice pictorial tour. Thanks for sharing

Try saying Blickling and Back ten times fast…
I’ve been watching The Last Kingdom and it’s rather cool to see Aylsham in your pics – brings me to all the various old and new names of all these places.
Beautiful pictures.

May I enquire what photographic image capture device you use as it appears to be some sort of telephotometric device for the transport of the observer to a variety of photogenic delights.

I thank you. Yes, you may ask, and although you might not be asking seriously, I shall tell you I use a Panasonic DC-FZ82, which is mirrorless, therefore lightweight, with x60 zoom plus wide-angle lens

Funnily, I too have the FZ82,, a DMC TZ70 and a Sony SA58 DSLR but I like FZ82 the best for it’s zoom

The small-leaved lime is now very rare, and these are amongst the oldest in the country
