Last week we walked the Yare Valley. Today, we’re back on Norfolk’s mostly flat top, walking the villages (second part of walk 27th January 2022)
Every Norfolk village should have one of these…
And they all have one of these…
Sometimes the church is open and we get to peep inside…
At Kirby Bedon there are two churches. Alas, St Mary’s has seen better days…
A village must have a farm. Great sums of money were spent on their barns when the new system of farming (field rotations) came in.
And all those barns and fields require this…
But where do the villagers live?
As we started with a church, so we leave. This is the beautiful but humble church at Hellington…
And this is it’s ornate and ancient entrance…
That’s all for now folks. Hope you enjoyed our visit to the villages of Kirby Bedon, Bramerton, Rockland St Mary and Hellington. I pray you’ll join me for Tuesday Treat. I believe last week I promised you some birds.
Great pictures

Looks a great place for a stroll, and a lot flatter than I was used to

The interfluves, between rivers. It’s only the valleys that are steep, and they’re not deep

I tend to focus on flowers and forget the villages we’re passing through

The sunlight helps. Even at midday, the sun is low in the sky, which is fantastic for photography
