Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN
“Look, I know we said we’d not let any barriers stand in our way, but look at the! Some of them stand up as straight as we do. They must be cousins or something. We shouldn’t attack them.”
“Don’t let their appearances fool you, Oak-723. Those are ironwoods, and no friends of ours. And the ones that hang horizontally are an offense to the Great Spirit of the Forest. Attack!”
The humans who surveyed the damage the next day didn’t understand. They thought a storm had brought the trees and railings down.

Then it has accomplished its purpose.
I always think, “There has to be a story behind every downed railing.” Pretty sure this one hadn’t been told. 🙂

That’s what I thought. But yours is so much more imaginative

My thoughts Crispina. Sorry but I couldn’t get the photo to cooperate.

Love the story.
Is the photo problem due to slow connection? WP are now asking that we use 1200 x 675 px minimum. But that’s byte-heavy when uploading, you might get timed out. I’d like to go back to 630 px but that means no “banner” photo on my posts. Sorry

It could be a lack of technical expertise on my behalf.

Could be. But most likely it’s the size of file
