Tuesday Treats: Details

Hi. A week of rain kept me in but Saturday dawned bright so I put on my thermals and shoes and off I went, getting a head-start, as it happened, on a head cold. These photos are just a few of the details; I’ll cover the walk later

Here we go round the mulberry bush on a cold and frosty morning

Frosted seats… I don’t think I’ll sit just now

And now the sun sends out her warming rays

Yet in sheltered places, everything remains frozen

I took an awful lot of shots of reeds… orange in the sunlight

A certain sign of spring… pussy willow

Crystals… I couldn’t resist a close-up

What makes this frozen puddle sparkle so?

9th Jan 2021

More signs of spring… the elder tree with buds bursting

9th Jan 2021

I think this is a thrush’s feeding ground. Loads of empty snail-shells amongst the frosty mosses

9th Jan 2021

Some plants even in decay look good…

9th Jan 2021

No words required

9th Jan 2021

Pretty as winter flowers, the swollen ovaries of ivy…

…to be followed by the berries,Ā  on the blue-side of black

Can I take a walk without I find some fungi? Jelly Ears

And now a drum-roll please, build up the tension… what has she to show us? I have waited, I have tried, I have repeatedly failed. Until Saturday… THIS… THESE

I am not a bird photographer, but this Little Egret has been breeding on our marshes for several years, but timid and elusive. To capture it so has made my year

Congratulations on the egret! They are great photos. I always love your pictures and am a sucker for the frost ones. Um, as I was reading the captions I was struck by them too, and the line about sheltered places could have another meaning these days. I hope you don’t mind what I did with your words. I only leave them here, a tanka in thanks.

Lovely pictures. Some might have escaped from an ordinary eye, not yours. You make them look so beautiful.
