CCC 91: The Shadow

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #91

The brighter the light
The deeper the shadow
All artists know this

Why then expect our loved ones who shine to have no defects?
Why expect them to be through-and-through perfect?
Why be shocked or feel betrayed when we discover our assumptions incorrect?

The light casts a shadow of the self, distorted
Perhaps the self that weโ€™ve not courted
But thatโ€™s no reason to leave the loved one unsupported
Love both the light and the shadow, love them both unthwarted.
