Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

And apologies for being late. I scheduled it to the wrong date. Oops!

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

    It was a giant rabbit, a real killer, with fangs longer than my arm, and eyes bloodshot with hatred. Its claws could disembowel a double-decker omnibus in less than a minute. The fields of Norfolk had been stripped of grass, sheep, and people named Smith in just four days.

    We had recast the Fenris Chain with a leporine twist to the spell. The anchor plug holding it in place ran 600 meters deep. The chain itself was a magical silver-iron-iridium alloy. We’d chosen the place to make our stand: Ipswich. And the rabbit was coming right toward us, having last been seen in Woodbridge. But could we stop it before its rampage destroyed London?

    Happy day, whichever one it is.
    I broke the rules because 150 wasn’t enough, but that’s just being rebellious or getting caught up in things. One or the other.

    I tried mimicking the shape of the four (what I believe to be) mooring bollards that appear in the photo. The theme of the weight of living with lies surrounded me when I saw this. Very evocative prompt.

        As I’m inclined to do too… and you keep telling me.
        I have to say, especially seeing the responses to this photo, the challenge really is drawing out everyone’s creativity. It’s fantastic to see 🙂

        Of course, this could be due to the stress that’s riddled its way through us although of course we all deny it. 🙂

        You are absolutely right, Crispina. Many of us say we’re not worried and we are lying through our teeth. I know I was unreasonably tired after going out to do my groceries on Monday after having avoided all stores for two weeks. It’s on all of our minds and we just can’t push it aside. Nor should we be complacent about it. Looking at the numbers in New York – and the States is rather unnerving.

        Yea. I began by binge-watching all I could find on the subject on YouTube. I like to be informed, and I prefer not to accept other people’s opinions, we never know what’s the hidden agenda. I also needed to understand, so I could absorb it. That thorough immersion hasn’t lessened the stress, but I do think it’s allowed me to view it without being swamped with dread. But… wow, this is worse than any dystopian sci-fi I read back in the 1970s. To say otherwise is to lie. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get through it.

        Exactly. I keep getting friggen messages from well-meaning friends about this or that: no ibuprofen! hold your breath! wear this, don’t wear that…
        I tell them thank you and that I am also paying attention to the news.
        The stress can’t really go away as long as so many people are not respecting the directives.

        Yea, I see the footage and I cringe. But, in GY everyone seems to be behaving. As to ibrufen, it’s the only thing that’s attacking the pain in my lower back. But unfortunately, it drowses me right out.
