Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
If you tag it #CCC others should be able to find it by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
Former Water Tower on outskirts of village. The sign of gate reads: No Junk Mail
“No junk mail or circulars, please. My house is round enough already.”

Oh, Padre, I like. Very clever, a quick wit!

The new postal carrier was dumbfounded. “What am I supposed to do with the junk mail, then?” he asked his predecessor.
The old man shrugged. “Toss it out. I did.”
“But that’s against postal regulations,” protested the young fellow.
“Who’s going to know?”
The old man had a point. The water tower was at the dead end of a dirt road, the only structure on it. Most of the junk mail was addressed to “RESIDENT.” Oh, there were a few addressed to “Ms. Resident.” The new carrier was not sure if that was the inhabitant’s name, or someone had a lame sense of humor.
But he was young, and had a sense of duty. “The mail’s addressed here, it’s going to be delivered here.” He took the entire bundle of mail for the address, and stuffed it into the box.
Nothing happened.

Has me chuckling; I thank you.. Though, as with when I first discovered the tower with its challenging notice, I have to wonder where Mr and/or Ms Resident resided. For it is but a staircase spiralling around a central column which, I imagine, housed the original pump, to feed into a not-over spacious reservoir at the top. Perhaps, now no longer required to hold water, that reservoir was converted into a lofty eyrie. But no sign of life when I visited. Except various birds and creepy-crawlies.

Naturally, I’d do something like this to you only once.
Possibly no one lives there. It could still be used as a mailing address by whoever maintains the structure, just for mail related to the property, Hence the stricture against junk mail: it will likely overflow the box before the owner/manager comes by to check it out.
Or it’s the residence of the tallest, thinnest fresh-water kraken alive. Take your pick.

Well, I think the latter suggestion more realistic. 🙂

LOL, that looks like a tomb, so sending mail to dead.

Like it.
And somebody likened it the Towers of Silence.
It is quite a tall structure, but surrounded by trees, impossible to get a good shot.

Wow, a little scary too, LOL

Absolutely! Mind you, I swear, even on the sunniest of photos, there are people who are determined to write about evil and killing and death…

Oh yes, I have a contributor like that. Though it’s usually/always done with humour

Some people never can see the bright side of death. Consider burning at the stake.

I’d rather not. It’s not the easiest way to go.
