Inspiration Called Today

For my fellow Plot Bunnies at Camp NaNoWriMo

Inspiration called today.
You were not here,
You’d gone away,
Gone away to distant isles
Where inspiration hangs on trees
And you can pluck it from the breeze.

Inspiration called today
You were not here,
It did not stay

A somewhat ambiguous message, intended in the positive sense

    Inspiration calls tomorrow.
Its time you cannot ever borrow.
    Your duty is to type,
    And then engage the hype,
Or live the day in sorrow.

I love the idea of plucking inspiration from trees! And what a gorgeous image you found, wow. That is definitely inspiring!

In that second verse, should it be “called” instead of “call”?

This is great. We do know where inspiration went, don’t we? It took a backpack and went to a camp… 😀 I, too, love Pixabay and regularly get lost there.

We I first signed up it was with intention of uploading some of my photos. Then I discovered the fantasy section. No, my stuff doesn’t measure up. And strangely, for me, inspiration often comes with my hands in warm sudsy water, while washing up. As did the words for this poem.

Doing the dishes? That has never inspired me yet, LOL. But walking with my dog, or walking in general, does.

There are times when I’m idling on a bus, perhaps on the deep into the countryside for a long ramble, when solutions to problems of whatever I’m currently writing might forcibly strike me. But poems must often come when I’m doing the dishes. No idea why.
