A selection of the fungi found on our walk on 29th September 2025. Enjoy!
A selection of inkcap species in various states πΌπ½β¬
The ones that defeat me! πΌπ½β¬
Parasols πΌπ½ loads of parasols around at the moment
Jelly ears (has many other local names) π½
Trametes (turkey tails), probably πΌ and π½ birch polypores
I hesitate to say southern bracket; that blacktopping isn’t usual π½
That’s all folks. Hope you enjoyed

Those inkcaps are spectacular! I love that you have such a wonderful selection of fungi in your area. Thank you for sharing them.

I was out on Thursday, stocking my camera with more of the fabulous fungi. I’m out again this coming Tuesday to find some more π§πππ₯°

I am most jealous! We have had so little rain (maybe an inch in weeks…) Looking forward to what you share!

I understand that ‘ink’ can, indeed, be used as ink. Maybe for writing poison-pen letters?
