“Beetles discovered antigravity long before we did,” said Prof. Zorn. “Despite their small size, it has been prove they are more intelligent than most MPs. Of course, so are cocker spaniels.”
“But professor,” replied Abigail, “cocker spaniels never discovered antigravity!”
“Oh, they moved far beyond that,” said the professor. “Ever seen a dead cocker spaniel?”
“No.”
“Well, that’s because they mastered transmigration of souls as well as antigravity,” Prof. Zorn explained. “That’s why flowers can rise up from the ground.”
Abigail was confused, and began to wonder if the fruit the professor was eating was affecting his thinking. Being of a scientific temperament herself, she pulled a few off the tree and began eating them to see if it would affect her thinking. Of course, it did not, and just to prove it, she got down on her hands and knees and started barking.
