A few of the fungi we saw on our walk through Broadland Country Park on 17th October 2024 (see Sunday Picture Post on 3rd Nov). Enjoy
Hoof bracket (above)
Above and below, Amethyst Deceiver
Above, Stinkhorn… usually you can find it simply by sniffing!
Above, False Death Cap (Amanita citrina)
Above and below, Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria)
That’s all for now folks. Don’t forget to check out Sunday Picture Post on Sunday 3rd November, and Tuesday Treats on Tuesday 5th November for more photos from this walk

Poisonous. Amanite falloide!

I’m told it’s the False Death cap, which is equally poisonous.
One reason I don’t often name the fungi is I don’t want to misname them which could lead to someone’s upset stomach, if not yet more serious

I found lots of fungi on my walk between work sites this week, though none as pretty as the amethyst deceiver or the fly agaric – though they’re all attractive in their own way – well, most of them.

I like the colourful ones. But I also like the tiny ones! But then, I like the big ones too!

That Hoofer looks huge! And please. purple fungi? How fabulous.
I just absolutely LOVE that you have so many varieties. I look and I look but I guess I just don’t see or I don’t go to the right places!

That hoof was quite a big one, but also I am very close to it. And it only on a slender birch. And yes, purple fungi. Aren’t they beautiful

It looks huge! Close or no 😉 So pretty in purple. I do love the red polka-dots, too 🙂 You do manage to capture such a beautiful variety.

For posting, I try to keep it varied. Though my folders are full of ‘very similar’
