Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it.
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN
It was on March 18, 2024 that the famous “March of the Trash Cans” took place. All over England, public trash cans moved by themselves, massing to march on Great Yarmouth like lemmings. And like lemmings, they seemed suicidally headed into the sea over the coastal cliffs. Some, it is true, drowned in Breydon Water, failing to reach their ultimate destination. A few, very disoriented, would end up trapped in the marshes around the Wash. But many indeed “drowned” in the North Sea. The remains of a few can be seen along the beaches even to this day.
No explanation for this event has been forthcoming. And the nearby coastal communities had to cope with accelerated coastal erosion and lawsuits from injuries due to passing waste receptacles. All in all, a tragedy.

Love it. Has me in belly laughs. 🤣🤣🤣
Just one thing. As you should be well aware, there are no cliffs at Gt Yarmouth! But we’ll allow the poetic licence!

It would be an interesting geographical challenge to gift Great Yarmouth with the cliffs so common along the East Anglian coast, but my typing fingers were up to it! And in two month’s time, we’ll see if my fortune-telling ability is similarly illusory!

Curious. Are you planning another UK visit?

Oh, the allusion to a few months’ time was due to the fictive dating in my little story. But the Irish trip, at least, is back on for 2024.
