“Bertie, leave that dirty old bowl alone.”
“But Maisy, look, there’s something in it.”
“Dead fish, of course, you lout. What else would you find in an old fishbowl?”
But it wasn’t fish. These were figures, human figures, and they were moving. Bertie picked up the bowl for a better look.
“Genii,” he whispered the word. “Hey, Maisy, now we can have whatever we wish. Look, genii.”
“Well, I for one, wish you’d put that filthy thing down.”
Though against his own wants, he replaced the bowl in the dune where he’d found it.
“And now I wish you’d hurry along,” Maisy said.
Bertie hurried, a glance back at the bowl. “Sorry. Don’t go away, I’ll come back another day.”

Haha!!2 perfectly good wishes wasted! ❤️

I think maybe he did. But then, would it be wise to trust one of those geni-guys?
