17th November 2023, we hopped a bus, our destination Waveney Forest aka Fritton Woods. This is Part 2 of our walk… when the sun came out! Enjoy
Yay! Happy for the sun today…
Everything shines, copper and gold is everywhere
Pylon passion, they march from marshland and through the forest two-by-two…
But of course, the sun just has to play hide-and-seek!
And the sun shines again…
The grand old dame, autumnal beech…
Rich red, but not from native oaks. These are North American oaks. Yet they pick up the colour of our native bracken rather well…
There has been much felling of pines over recent years. But as you see, there’s also regeneration
Back into the trees, and heading for the exit
But first we have to negotiate this…
The long lane back to habitation to catch the bus
I hope you’ve enjoyed. I’ve already posted the details from this walk, but I have so so so many fungi photos. So this week’s Tuesday Treats will feature one specific fungus species… cos for some peoples it’s associated with Christmas. Don’t miss it…

A beautiful walk among awesome place.

We’d been saving this walk for when the trees are properly turning colour!

We’d been itching to visit here, for it general has some fantastic fungi. But we need to wait for the foliage to turn. Lo! It turns… 🙂

Gold and reds and copper and water! That must have been “fun” to navigate…
Beautiful images. Man… we have nothing left!

It wasn’t as wet underfoot as some of our walks this autumn. And our leaves are hanging on a while despite recent gales have done their damnedest to shred them… mostly to lay them at my door!

Isn’t that always the way? Mind you, pretty helpful to have them all at the same place 😁
Despite our heavy snowfall, there are a few hangers on, on my tree 🙂

Coming by bus across the marshes yesterday… looks more like a lake. So much water, our rivers are flooding!

Oy… that must be scary for any houses nearby?

There are no houses. Might be an occasional barn
